:
Willie Dixon, a giant in the shadow of Chicago Blues, performed a rare live show in Chicago in 1974, and now it is available as a radio broadcast recording with a great sense of presence from the audience! The giant of a man, he delivers his powerful vocals on many of the superb songs he wrote for Muddy, Wolfe and Walter. He is backed by a regular band including veteran session player Lafayette Leake (piano) and Dixon’s treasured son, Buster Benton (guitar). The harmonica playing of Carrie Bell, a young player at the time, is especially wonderful.
