A reasonably priced standard issue reissue to accompany Rattle & the Berliner Philharmoniker’s sixth tour of Japan in May 2016 after a two-and-a-half-year absence. In September 1999, Rattle took the podium of the Berlin Philharmonic for the first time after being elected Artistic Director. This is a monumental performance reminiscent of his long and fruitful partnership with the BPO.
