The New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) movement is currently celebrating its 40th anniversary. This reissue of Limelight’s debut album released in 1980 is one of the most legendary albums of the NWOBHM movement, famous not only for its influence from British hard rock, but also for its strong influence from progressive rock, including the use of the mellotron. The band’s debut album, “Limelight,” was released in 1985. The band’s debut album, “Limelight,” as well as the single “Ashes To Ashes,” released in 1982, are considered classic songs from the NWOBHM movement. Although the band broke up after only one album and two singles, they are still highly regarded to this day. The Japanese version of the album was released once on CD in 1990, but it was soon discontinued, and the title was sold at a high price on the second-hand market after that. This is the first reissue since then, and a long-awaited reissue for fans! The reissue will feature remastered sound sources, SHM-CD, and a paper jacket reissue of the original U.K. pressing.
