The latest work by Anchor Song, a Japanese producer living in London who has received praise from Giles Peterson and enthusiastic support from the BBC! Mirage” is based on Anchorsong’s auteuristic style of “borderless music”, creating a long sonic journey by fusing complex rhythms with minimal yet immersive and rich sounds. Also, in this album, he depicts “vague landscapes that exist only in my mind,” moving away from the reference to a specific place in his previous two albums. Anchorsong also pushes his own limits as a producer on this album, with “The Ocean,” his first vocal track featuring Portuguese poetry by his friend Bookend, as well as elements of jazz and oud drum on “Remedy” and “Horseback” and “Mongolian Grass. The album also features a number of new experiments that have never been attempted before, such as the sound of horses’ hooves galloping across the Mongolian steppe in “Horseback” and elements of Brazilian music from the 1960s and 1970s in “Saudade”. The CD with domestic distribution includes a commentary.
