Rubinstein, Schelling, and Fournier – three golden masters come together in a recording that will go down in the history of chamber music recordings. Rubinstein recorded the piano trios of Schubert, Schumann, and Brahms with Schelling and Fournier in Geneva in 1972 and 1974. Rubinstein’s late, richly flavored piano accompanies Schelling’s fresh violin and Fournier’s sweet cello to create a superb performance of six of the finest piano trios of the German Romantic era.
