Cast follow their 30th anniversary celebrations and 2025 stadium tour with Yeah Yeah Yeah — an unplanned but inspired new album recorded with producer Youth at his mountaintop studio in Spain.
What began as a handful of demos quickly became a full-blown session when studio time, producer and band all unexpectedly aligned. “Let providence prevail,” says frontman John Power. “No one had heard the songs apart from me and Alan McGee, but we both felt we had something.”
The result is a bold, expansive record that blends Cast’s classic melodic instincts with gospel, strings and psychedelic funk. Lead single ‘Poison Vine’ — featuring the legendary P.P. Arnold — delivers a blistering chorus and deep groove, while she also guests on the funk-driven ‘The Way It’s Gotta Be (Oh Yeah)’.
There’s widescreen anthemia in tracks like ‘Free Love’ and ‘Don’t Look Away’, a wistful tone on ‘Teardrops’ and ‘Birds Heading South’, full-throttle rock on ‘The Weight of the World’, and a quiet, reflective moment with ‘The Devil and the Deep’.
