In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Charles Mingus’ birth, 8 titles carefully selected from his masterpieces and rare recordings on UHQCD for the first time in Japan are being reissued! This album is a recording of a concert held at Cornell University on March 18, 1964. The recording was miraculously discovered by Mingus’ widow (Sue), making it one of the most exciting performances of Mingus’ career. It is also a valuable recording in that it allows us to hear Eric Dolphy perform shortly before his death. It also includes the famous song “The Fable of Governor Faubus. (C)RS
