The release of Schubert’s two symphonies by the Munich Symphony Orchestra is the result of several years of collaboration between Edsay and the orchestra, as well as a look toward the future. While all four of Munich’s current orchestras are dedicated to preserving the city’s musical traditions and “the sound of the city,” the Munich Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1945, is a community-based orchestra that performs more than 100 concerts each year, constantly exploring new repertoire and occasionally recording familiar film music.
