Following “Manayachana” (2014), “My Letter to the World” (2016), “Chance Monsoon” (2017), “Diamond Dust” (2018), “Zawawa” (winner of the 2019/2019 Record Academy Award for Contemporary Music) and “Turtle Totem” (2020 ), the latest album featuring works by London-based composer Dai Fujikura. This time, for the first time in the series, the album is a large two-disc set. Like his previous collections, this album also includes the title piece performed by a large orchestra, as well as works written for various instruments such as electric guitar, recorder, horn, koto, shamisen, shakuhachi, violin, clarinet, marimba, contrabass, viola, bass clarinet, and many others. The collection is a collection of works that approaches the vast musical world of Dai Fujikura. One of the most important characteristics of Fujikura’s works is that they are composed in close communication with the performers using ZOOM and other instruments. This allows him to draw out completely new sounds from traditional instruments, presenting a new sound world to the listener as a collaboration between the performer and the composer.
