This is the first leader album by Fumi Hayakawa, a jazz saxophonist based in Nagoya who performs widely in combos and big bands.” It is a session recording by the members of the Fumi Hayakawa Quartet. The title of the album, “Walking Bird,” was chosen to express the feeling of “steadily approaching the masters of jazz saxophone, step by step. The basic sound of the album is the Hammond organ, guitar, and drums, which is the royal road of organ trios, and Fumi Hayakawa’s alto and soprano saxophones, full of originality, tell the story of Walking Bird on this stage.
