The latest George Harrison reissuing flurry from BMG flutters forth again, this time focusing on Let It Roll, a brief collection recorded by the “shy Beatle” well into his solo career. Released the day Harrison received his star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, the compilation pulls from his Apple and Dark Horse years but omits six of his studio albums entirely. Over chart majors like ‘My Sweet Lord’, ‘Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)’, and ‘Got My Mind Set On You’, alongside three live recordings from the landmark Concert for Bangladesh, this one began as a full-career summary but nonetheless – necessarily – lacked material from Wonderwall Music, Thirty Three & 1/3, and the Traveling Wilburys, resolutely raising eyebrows among fans.
