Ginger, a Ukrainian progressive metalcore band featuring female vocalist Tatiana, is now available with a live album. Powerful, tight, technical, and progressive, the performance is a masterpiece. Tatiana’s skill in quickly switching between brutal growls and stunning cleans is nothing short of astonishing!Ginger is a Ukrainian metal band. The band itself was formed in 2009, but it was in 2010 when female vocalist Tatyana Shmeilyuk and guitarist Roman Ivankarilov joined the band, The EP, “Inhale, Do Not Breathe”, released in 2012, is a technical and powerful piece of progressive metalcore. The EP was re-released in 2001 on Leaders Records in Greece as their debut album with live tracks added. In 2002, the band released their second album, “Cloud Factory,” on their own label. This caught the ear of Austrian giant Napalm Records. The third album, “King of Everything,” released on Napalm, quickly made Ginger popular worldwide.In April 2007, Tatiana visited Japan with Obscura. The fact that they overwhelmed the audience with their tremendous stage performance is still fresh in our memories. In October, they released their third album, “Macro,” which was also a big hit.The new release is “Alive in Melbourne,” a live album that includes the tour that accompanied the “Macro” album. As the title suggests, this album is a full recording of the show that took place in Melbourne, Australia on March 5, 2020. As those of you who saw the 2019 show in Japan will know, Ginger’s stage presence is simply powerful. The band’s powerful, heavy, technical, and progressive style, influenced by the likes of Godzilla, Pantera, and Lamb of God, is at its best live. The heat of the live performance was even greater than that of the studio version, and it made my heart flutter.
