American singer, producer and songwriter Keith Sweat’s self-titled 1996 album is often considered a high point in his storied career. It is a signature mix of smooth ballads and polished new jack swing that was originally released by Elektra, who now reissue it as part of their 75th anniversary celebrations. It became his most successful record, going quadruple platinum while the singles ‘Twisted’ and ‘Nobody’ hit the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the r&b charts, cementing Sweat’s place in 90s r&b history. While some found the material uneven, the variety is what keeps it fresh all these yards on with highlights like ‘Come with Me’ (featuring Ronald Isley) still more than able to seduce the dance.
