This is the first release in the series in 13 years. East Wind (KOCHI) is an international unit formed by Masaaki Kikuchi and Terumasa Hino during their stay in the United States. KOCHI’s unique world of Gagaku (Japanese ancient court music) arrangements, including a feature on Kikuchi’s biwa, allows them to create delicate and daring free improvisations. Recorded in New York City on August 11, 12, and 14, 1976, using DSD remastering.
