A graduate of the piano department and master’s program at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris with unanimous top honors from the jury, Ma Shu Lo will make his debut in 2019 as a singer-songwriter as Matthew Lo as a new sense of expression, with a mini album to be distributed in the coming year. His singles and album tracks have garnered much attention, with a string of singles and album tracks making the subs playlists and scoring TV tie-ins. His classical album “Melange” was also released for limited distribution around the same time. He has now changed his name back to “Shu Rohma,” his real name as a classical pianist, and will once again be active in the classical music world in earnest. With both British and Japanese sensibilities, Lo Mashu’s exceptional talent has been highlighted in numerous competitions, and his outstanding technique, rich expressiveness, and handsome appearance have become the talk of the town. He studied at the Conservatoire as a talented classical pianist and was expected to have a smooth sailing life as a pianist, but he was confronted with a severe illness that was hard for a pianist to cope with. After a long period of time, she came to terms with herself and has been expanding her activities as a one-of-a-kind pianist by making full use of her natural expressive ability.Melange means “mixed” in French, and the title symbolizes this album of classics, which is an album of songs in various styles, based on French music, with a mix of Japanese and English blood and a back-and-forth between POPS and classical music. In addition to the songs already distributed, Gershwin’s “Summertime” will be included with vocals and released on CD as an album that can show both sides. There is music that can only be expressed because one has known pain and has been able to overcome it. Rohma Shu also continues his activities as a singer-songwriter, opening up new horizons as a one-of-a-kind new sensory expressionist.
