[Leonard Bernstein (1918.8.25-1990.10.14) was a star conductor who shared popularity with Karajan in the 20th century.) His passionate, emotionally charged, and soulful performances drew the sympathies of many, and he was loved by many with a charismatic following. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of his birth, 50 titles are being released in a limited edition with UHQCD, green color label coating, and specifications that focus on sound quality. The Symphony No. 1 “Jeremiah” is based on Jewish liturgical music and expresses the lament of the prophet Jeremiah against the destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonians, which triggered the dispersion of the Jewish people. No. 2, “The Age of Anxiety,” based on Auden’s suggestive poem about the anxiety of modern life and the search for something worth believing in, through the spiritual itinerary of three lonely men and a daughter who meet in a New York bar. This is the definitive recording of Bernstein’s own work.
