Description
A shining example of soul jazz from the late Sixties, Lou Donaldson’s Midnight Creeper was released in 1968 as his third venture on the Blue Note label. It’s one of the saxophonist’s loosest and louchest efforts, a mixture of three originals and two covers of jazz standards, recorded with two established stars in cornetist Blue Mitchell and organist Lonnie Smith, as well as the effortlessly funky percussionist Idris Muhammad and a young guitarist by the name of George Benson.
