Mutsuko Kawamoto, who has been sincerely pursuing the royal road of Japanese jazz vocalists, has released her first solo album in 9 years. Mutsuko Kawamoto is a jazz vocalist active mainly in western Japan. With her overseas experience since childhood and her exceptional singing skills, she has long had a reputation for her abilities, but on this album, she sings masterpieces with an expressive power that has been further refined in the 10 years since she moved to her hometown of Hiroshima. Backing them up are Philip Strange, one of Kansai’s best pianists, Yasutaka Mann on bass, who is active in a wide range of genres from free improvisation to standards, and Yohei Saito on drums, who has earned the trust of many musicians. The long-awaited release of this album was made possible through a crowdfunding campaign, which quickly exceeded its goal by more than 150%, with the support of many fans.
