The NHK Symphony Orchestra’s brass band performances during the “NHK Symphony Orchestra Hotto Concerts” held from 2006 to 2011 are finally being released on CD for the first time. In 2006, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the NHK Symphony Orchestra, the first time the orchestra featured a brass band, the concert attracted a great deal of attention, and for the next six years until 2011, the concert featured standard brass band music, and the orchestra gave wonderful performances. Since then, the concert has featured standard brass band music for the past six years until 2011, and has produced a special 2-CD set featuring many of these masterpieces for all brass band fans. Please enjoy the splendid performances by the symphonic wind ensembles of Japan’s leading orchestras. (C)RS
