The band moved from ECM to Gefin Records and released “Still Life (Talking)” in 1987, an ambitious album incorporating elements of Brazilian music that reached No. 3 on the Jazz Album Chart and No. 86 on the U.S. Album Chart. The following year, the album won the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Fusion Performance. With this hit album, the band embarked on its first world tour in many years. The Chicago show was the highlight of the tour, and the band performed for four consecutive days. The concert on November 29, the first day of the tour, will be recorded and broadcast as a special program on WXRT FM, an FM station specializing in jazz, for promotional purposes. The set list for the concert was 7 songs including medleys and encores, and this live album is a complete recording of the concert. The live performance by the seven-member band, which now includes three new members, is more colorful and expansive and more complete than ever.Since no live album from this period has been released, this is a rare opportunity to hear the newly formed Pat Metheny Group live. Imported domestic edition.
