Austrian-born bass singer Robert Holzer teaches lieder and oratorio at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz and performs as an opera singer worldwide. He has given a wide variety of concerts and recordings over the years with pianist Thomas Körple. Their new work reflects “reflections on literary form and musical treatment in the ballads,” and gives a close listen to the medieval narrative poems as they are rendered in undulating music by Romantic composers.
