Lupe Fiasco celebrates the first anniversary of his acclaimed album Samurai with the expanded edition Samurai DX. Produced entirely by longtime collaborator Soundtrakk, the original record drew inspiration from Amy Winehouse and was praised by Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, and Billboard for its depth and soul.
Samurai DX features two unreleased cuts from the sessions — ‘SOS’ and ‘High Note’ — plus remixes of ‘Samurai’, ‘Palaces’, and ‘Bigfoot’, the latter now featuring Troy Tyler. The vinyl release also includes instrumental versions of all five tracks.
Reaffirming his reputation as one of Chicago’s most inventive voices, Lupe Fiasco extends the story of a record he calls among his most personal works.
