[Deutsche Grammophon, the world’s oldest classical label with a history of over 120 years, and Decca, which will celebrate its 90th anniversary in 2019 and is home to conductor Seiji Ozawa, pianist Mitsuko Uchida, and other greats, will present an encore project of the “Classical Department Store” series, featuring evergreen masterpieces of the highest popularity and quality from both labels (including the former Phillips). The “Classical Department Store” series is an encore project of the “Classical Department Store” series, which collects the best evergreen masterpieces in terms of popularity and quality from both labels. The 50 titles will be released, 10 for each genre and 10 for each of the 100 titles in the “Classical Department Store” series that were ranked as runners-up in popularity in their respective genres. As with the previous 100 titles in the “Classical Department Store” series, the CD booklet includes a contribution by a popular novelist, “Me and Classics. The novelists introduce how they enjoy classical music. All of the CDs feature new, concise and easy-to-understand music commentary manuscripts.
