Special project for the 30th anniversary of Yukio Yokoyama’s debut. This is the seventh work by Yukio Yokoyama. This is the first collection of Chopin’s complete Nocturnes released in two CD installments. The Nocturne is a work that tests a pianist’s true musicianship, and in recording it, Yokoyama took a great deal of time and made no compromises at all in the adjustment of the piano and recording settings, seeking a sound image that would satisfy his own ideals. This commitment can be seen in his interpretation of the piece, which is the result of his consideration of various editions of the score. Recorded in June 1997 at Bando Civic Music Hall Belle-Foret.
