The second album by Beta Band, the Scottish “post-Beck” or “Beasties meets Anicole” lo-fi breakbeat band led by the genius Steve Mason, is being reissued following the initial EP! The last UK miracle and mystery band of the 90’s, who received enthusiastic support from Thom Yorke and Noel Gallagher, has released the best album of their career, which is full of their “character”! Formed in 1996 in St. Andrews, Scotland, the Beta Band made a breakthrough immediately after their debut with a large scale sound that crossed over into dance and rock, and attracted a great deal of attention as a talent that could be compared to Radiohead. This is a reissue of their second album “Hot Shots II” released in 2001. Produced by C. Swing, one of the UK’s leading R&B producers known for his work with Michelle Gayle and Beverly Knight. The opening track “Squares,” which samples Günter Kalman Choir’s “Daydream,” is one of the band’s best-known songs, along with their debut “Dry The Rain” (also used in the film “High Fidelity”).Cinematic, psychedelic, tight breakbeats, dub, and a downer mood reminiscent of Portishead, the band succeeded in sublimating various elements to the next level and creating a worldview that is out of this world. chart).
