The choral piece “Velie” was the opening song of the worldwide hit movie “Anna and the Snow Queen”. The Norwegian choral group who sang this song will visit Japan for the first time in November 2019. To coincide with their visit to Japan, their latest album, released by Decca in 2017, will be released on domestic vinyl. The album offers a chance to enjoy the charm of the clear voice of Cantus, the Norwegian female a capella chorus who performed mysterious harmonies in the opening scene of the hit Disney movie “Anna and the Snow Queen” (original title: Frozen) (released in Japan in March 2014). Cantus is an a capella chorus consisting of 30 female members from Trondheim, Norway, who are active in various fields such as students, nurses, firefighters, teachers, and architects. The name of this choir became known worldwide with the release of the movie “Anna and the Snow Queen. This album is a collection of works by Norwegian composer Frode Verheijm, including some folkloric sounds, and invites the listener into a mysterious world where the Northern Lights shine in the frozen atmosphere.
